Women in AJK killed by ‘Unprovoked’ Indian shelling at Bhimber district: The firing was the latest in the cease fire violations by the Indians. The firing had occurred on early Friday morning at Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) Bhimber district.

60 year old Farzand Begum, the wife of Noor Hussain, succumbed to her injuries when an Indian shell landed on her house and exploded.

According to Deputy Commissioner Chaudhry Guftaar the woman was a resident of Naali village in Bhimber district.

Naali village, falls in tehsil Barnala and is adjacent to the Samahni sector, the sector has been hit by Indian firing many times.

According to the Additional Station House officer Hanif Ali, the Shelling began in the area at around 3am, and the casualty occurred between 4 and 5am.

The Additional Station House officer added that since mobile phones do not work in the hilly area, they had sent a constable to ascertain details.

With the latest fatality, the number of killings in cross-border firing incidents in the ongoing month has risen to three on the Pakistani side, while at least 30 others have been injured.
