A body bearing bullet wounds was found on Monday in Multan with ‘Daesh al-Bakistan’ written on clothes.

The body was reportedly identified as that of 33-year-old Umer Mubeen Jilani, son former Cholistan Development Authority Director General Zahid Husain Jilani, who was kidnapped on June 16, 2014 from Garden Town as he left for his home from office in the night.

Body of Umer Mubeen Jilani was found with ‘Daesh al-Bakistan’ written on clothes.

The writings on orange clothes, similar to that of prisoners in the United States, suggested that the victim was killed for working for Inter-Services Intelligence and also read ‘Daesh al-Bakistan’, ‘Inspector Mubeen Jilani’ and ‘Tareekh-e-Aghwa (date of abduction): June 16, 2014’.

The body was subjected preliminary examination which revealed that the victim was shot five times.

Daesh is an Arabic acronym for Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, a banned outfit majorly operating in the Middle East and whose presence in Pakistan has been repeatedly denied by Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali.
