CM Shahbaz to appear before JIT on 17th June: The joint investigation team (JIT) which is investigating offshore possessions of the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his children has called issued a summon to the younger brother of the PM, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, to stand before it on Saturday, 17th June 2017.

JIT which is headed by the Federal Investigation Agency’s Additional Director Wajid Zia has called upon Mr. Shahbaz to appear before the six-member JIT, just two days after the Prime Ministers appearance.

CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has been requested to bring with him the relevant documents of the Panama case.

On the other hand a spokesman of the government said that CM Punjab had yet to receive the JIT summon.

The summon of Shahbaz Sharif was issued after his close advisor Rana Sana Ullah had said that the JIT should summon him if it wanted to do a PhD on the Sharif family. He had stated “The JIT should invite CM Shahbaz as he will provide every detail it is seeking.

The minister further added that the chief minister would not have any issues with “lengthy interrogation sessions.” Mr Sana Ullah further requested “The JIT should also reveal who leaked Hussain Nawaz’s picture and which institution he belonged to and as to why it did not register an FIR against him We have not asked PML-N workers to gather on the arrival of the prime minister before the JIT on Thursday” Mr Sanaullah said.
