Decision taken to recruit 324 traffic assistants against vacant posts

To overcome the shortage of staff, the Punjab Government has imposed a ban on recruiting new traffic wardens and decided to recruit 324 traffic assistants on vacant seats in Rawalpindi Division.

At least three DSPs and 80 Inspectors seats are lying vacant in City Traffic Police Rawalpindi. The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi approved 100 posts of Inspectors, while only 22 slots have been filled. Among the 22 Inspectors, two will be retired in the coming months. Around six DSPs posts are approved in Rawalpindi, while only three are filled at the moment.

The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi approved 52 posts of senior traffic assistant posts, while only six posts have been filled . Around 46 posts are lying vacant. The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi approved 135 posts of traffic assistant, while inductions have been made against 105 posts and 30 seats are lying vacant.

The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi has forwarded a summary in this regard to Punjab Government asking them to recruit staff to overcome the problem of shortage of staff in City Traffic Police Rawalpindi. The staff will be hired after getting approval from the Punjab Government.
