Discussions between PTI and MQM for prospects of a new NA opposition leader
Sources have revealed that the leaders of the two parties mulled over the possibility of replacing Pakistan Peoples Party stalwart Khursheed Shah as the leader of opposition in the National Assembly. All this before the caretaker government steps in 2018.
MQM-Pakistan Head Farooq Sattar said that MQM supported the resolutions proposed by PTI, it further added that the parties discussed the country’s political situation.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi while addressing a press conference after the meeting remarked “We have no personal grievances against anyone. We respect Khursheed Shah.”
Furthermore Shah added that the conditions of the city will not improve until we a local bodies system is implemented. He begged the question “What is the point of a mayor if he doesn’t have power?”
He remarked that it is highly unfair if the people don’t get adequate facilities despite casting their votes, he added that the party leaders had discussed a lot of issues with MQM-Pakistan.
