Former head of Turk school along with family ‘abducted’

Police says that according to eyewitnesses at least 15 men in civvies had entered the house of Mesut Kacmaz at around 1:30am and had taken him away, along with his wife and daughters.

Fatih Avci who is a former teacher of Pak Turk school and was living in the same building had also been taken away by unidentified men, the teacher had resisted the arrest of the Turkish family. However Avci was later released. The Turkish language teacher later approached the police in order to lodge an FIR, however after recieving Avci’s application the police has been indecisive to register an FIR or to report the matter.

The Police had been told by the complainer that the incident had taken place around 1 am, according to him out of the total kidnappers fiver had been females. He said that they had not conducted any search and seize procedure. According to him he saw the kidnapping attempt and protested after which they took him as well. The witness says that the kidnappers had taken them to a 30 minute drive to an unknown location after which he was told that he was not in the given list and was later released blindfolded to his house.

Sadr SP Rizwan Gondal on the issue said police are still clueless about the family. We have been trying to locate them by contacting other law enforcement agencies, he added. Once the situation gets clear legal action will be taken, the SP maintained.

According to sources Mesut Kacmaz is on the list of UNHCR asylum seeker certificates ever since November 2016 when Pakistan had revoked the visas of staffer which were working with the Pak Turk Schools on the request of the Turkish government. Tayeb Erdugan who has been criticised for running what is being called a tyrant of a regime has blamed Fethullah Gulen for the failed coup in July 2016 and had launched a crackdown on the supporters of Fathullah within the country and globally. The ‘kidnapped’ director of Rumi Forum was also active against Tayyip Erdogan in Pakistan on social media.

Since the attempted coup, Turkey has fired 21,000 teachers and arrested hundreds of academics. In a chain of 28 Pak-Turk Schools and Colleges in Pakistan, around 11,000 students are studying. The project was launched in 1995 by the Pak-Turk Foundation.
