Indian deputy high commissioner summoned by FO to protest LOC violations

 The Foreign Office on Wednesday summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner to protest against Indian violations of the Line of Control.

The Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr Mohammad Faisal handed over a letter of protest to Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh.

Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing on Sunday and targeted a Pakistan Army vehicle across the Line of Control (LoC), according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Indian forces fired on the vehicle at Athmaqam area across the LoC, the ISPR said in a statement, in fresh violation of the ceasefire agreement between the two countries.

As a consequence, four soldiers were martyred after the vehicle plunged into Neelum River.

The Pakistan Army retaliated to the cross-border fire and gave a fitting response to the enemy, according to the ISPR statement.

On July 10, five Pakistani civilians, including four women, were martyred after Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing Rawalakot sector, Satwal, Manwal, Tatrinote areas. The incident also left four others, including three girls, injured.

In response, Pakistan Army destroyed two Indian check-posts leaving four enemy troops dead.
