JIT will not get extra time, Supreme Court
JIT will not get extra time, Supreme Court: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has submitted an initial report before the Supreme Court Earlier today.
The three member special bench of the apex court after reviewing the report, ordered Wajid Zia, head of the JIT, to take the stand. The contents of the report were not made public.
Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan who is a member of the bench at this moment warned the head of JIT that the tasks assigned to the JIT should be completed within the 60-day time-frame provided to the team.
At this moment Justice Shiekh Azmat added “We will not allow extra time under any circumstances,” He also directed the FIA director to report any problems faced by the members of the JIT to the court.
At this moment Justice Azmat also told Zia that the court “does not disagree with the report.”
The Advocate of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf Faisal Chaudhry, asked the court to make the JIT’s report public. The bench at this moment said that the report will only be made public at a “suitable time“.
