Karachi airport: Two arrested for smuggling foreign currency worth Rs100m

The FIA had arrested two suspects on Friday, 16^th June 2017 from Karachi airport. The suspects were arrested for allegedly smuggling over Rs100m in foreign currency.

FIA’s Anti-Corruption cell had arrested the two suspects from Karachi airport identified as Irfan Ahmed and Zeeshan Haider in an operation.

According to the FIA, Irfan is an employee of a company which deals with foreign currency exchange and Zeeshan works for a private airline.

Irfan was helped by Zeeshan to smuggle currency to Dubai, said the FIA.

The currency was seized from the suspects and a case has also been registered.
