Khurshid Shah says “PM should resign for sake of democracy party and parliament”
Syed Khurshid Shah who is the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly (NA) has demanded that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resigns for the sake of democracy, party and parliament.
While talking to the media persons on Tuesday, 20th June 2017, the opposition leader said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had sacrificed its prime minister and had appointed another to complete the five year term. Mr Shah said the opposition wanted the government to complete its term, but he suggested that Nawaz Sharif should resign and bring in a new prime minister in order for the PML-N government to complete the term as was done by the PPP.
Mr Shah said that he was confident that the judges would give an independent verdict in Panama leaks as they were sitting on the chair of justice.
The leader of the opposition said that the government was deliberately making the Judiciary and other institutions controversial and making dramas to secure their skin.
Mr Shah in reply to a question said that they are worried over the tension between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, as both the countries are friends of Pakistan. However Mr Shah said that the new force in Saudi Arabia to combat terrorism is being led by General Raheel Sharif which makes Pakistani position difficult. Mr Shah added that Qatar is also a friendly country and its prince has given a letter to the Prime Minister to clear his name in the Panamaleaks.
Leader of the opposition said that there is no foreign policy of Pakistan as Islamabad is being blamed for whatever is happening in Afghanistan despite the fact that it is the handiwork of others.
Mr Shah lauded the performance of Pakistan’s cricket team for raising the Pakistani flag high in the Champions Trophy.
