Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former ticket holder Babar Sohail Butt was gunned down by unidentified persons in Manawan’s Lakhodair area on Sunday for which Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) leader Sohail Shaukat Butt has been booked.
The case was registered against three persons including PML-N member of National Assembly on behalf of the PPP.
Per details, the assailants entered Butt’s house an opened fire on him, wounding him critically. He was shifted top Services Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police is suspecting involvement of Butt’s gunman Atif who allegedly allowed the perpetrators to break into his house and added that the incident seems to have taken place over personal enmity.
Family members and a large number of party workers stormed toward the hospital and all political activities have been suspended at Bilawal House Lahore for the day.
Police revealed three assassination attempts on Butt prior to the incident. Butt had contested provincial assembly election in 2013 on constituency PP-157.
