Colours fill the air as Pakistani Hindus celebrate Holi

Pakistani Hindu community celebrated traditional Holi festival on Sunday with zeal and zest to welcome spring.

The main event was celebrated at Suami-Narayn Mandir in Karachi, while people gathered on streets in every metropolis, including Lahore, and threw colours on each other.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif extended his felicitations to the Hindu community of Pakistan and assured the provision of equal rights to all citizens in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan and the teachings of Islam.

“The circumstances in Pakistan are changing. Here, the days of spring are coming up for which the basis of inter-faith peace and co-existence were laid. Pakistan was created as hub of peace not only for Muslims rather every tribe and community living in the region,” he said.
