PSL 2019 Date Announced: Fifteen international stars including AB de Villiers, Steve Smith, Shane Watson, Thisara Parera, Dwayne Bravo, Colin Munro and Mitchell McClenaghan will be seen in action in this year’s edition.

Moreover, more than 80 Pakistan players have been placed in five categories — Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver and Emerging.

The tournament will kick off on February 14, 2019 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The governing council of the PSL, in a meeting chaired by the Pakistan Cricket Board head, agreed to organise the final eight matches of the next edition in different cities of Pakistan.

The final will be played at Karachi’s National Stadium on March 17.

The new categories of Pakistani players taking part in this year’s Pakistan Super League have been announced.

Sarfraz Ahmed, Misbahul Haq, Shahid Afridi, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir, Shadab Khan, Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez are among the 14 players placed in platinum category.

The diamond category consists of nine players like Imad Wasim, Mohammad Sami, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Nawaz and Usman Shinwari.

Twenty players have been categorised in the Gold category with the Umar Akmal, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Umar Gul, Bilal Asif , Haris Sohail and Sohaib Maqsood among them.

The silver category comprises of 34 players, including Sahibzada Farhan, Mir Hamza and Mohammad Abbas.

The emerging category consists of 12 players like Ibtisam Sheikh, Rohail Nazir, Mohammad Taha and Ghulam Mudassar.

The player draft for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2019 will take place on November 20 in Islamabad.

According to a press release from the PSL management, Islamabad is set to be the second city to host the PSL player draft.

Before the draft takes place, all six teams will finalise their player retention by November 13. The trade window for teams will close November 12 and as per the rules for this season, each team can retain a maximum of 10 players.

Players who took part in last year’s season can be retained, traded or released back into the draft pool.

PSL will commence on February 14, 2019 and a total of eight games of this season are scheduled to take place in Pakistan. The matches will be conducted in Karachi and Lahore.

Fourteen international cricketers have been placed in the platinum category for the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League.

AB de Villiers (South Africa), Steve Smith (Australia), Chris Lynn (Australia), Brendon McCullum (New Zealand), Colin Munro (New Zealand), Luke Ronchi (Australia/New Zealand), Dwayne Bravo (West Indies), Sunil Narine (West Indies), Kieron Pollard (West Indies), Imran Tahir (South Africa), Colin Ingram (South Africa), Mitchell McClenaghan (New Zealand), Thisara Parera (Sri Lanka) and Rashid Khan (Afghanistan) are confirmed to be part of the draft for the next year’s edition.
