SC written a letter by NBP President about ‘mistreatment’ of JIT: Saeed Ahmad the President of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has written a letter to Supreme Court in which he has complained about the ‘mistreatment‘ of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) with him.
The media reports have stated that Ahmad has claimed that despite Supreme Court’s order, he was threatened and treated disrespectfully by the team.
The letter, which was written on 5th June 2017, Saeed Ahmad wrote that he had felt like a convict of a death sentence in place of witness in an investigation.
Mr Ahmad the NBP President said that before being questioned for 12 hours in three sessions, he had to wait for five consecutive hours.
Mr Ahmad told the court that after the initial questioning, he was given some documents and after reading them, my statement was recorded.
He further stated that if the Apex court was to see the video the ill behaviour of the JIT would be revealed.
On 28th May 2017, Saeed Ahmad, who was previously deputy governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, had been summoned for questioning by the JIT. Resources say that a foreign currency account of Saeed was used to deposit huge funds to obtain direct and indirect credit lines.
