Two Indian clerics go missing in Pakistan, FO receives request

The Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) on Thursday confirmed the receipt of request from India seeking assistance in recovery of two Indian clerics.

According to Times of India, Hazrat Nizamuddin dargah’s Sajjada Nashin of Delhi Saeed Asif Ali Nizami and cleric Nazim Nizami went missing on Wednesday during their visit to Lahore’s Data Darbar.

FO spokesperson Nafees Zakariya acknowledged the receipt of the request and assured its forwarding to concerned authorities pursuing the matter. “All the concerned departments are looking into the matter,” Zakariya stated.

Per details, the duo had arrived earlier in Karachi to meet relatives. “While Nazim went missing from Lahore airport, Asif went missing after arriving at Karachi airport,” Times of India reported.

The duo was set to fly to Karachi on Wednesday.
