Nisar declares federal capital unsafe for women

Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar revealed on the floor of National Assembly on Friday that Islamabad is growing insecure for women as number of rape incidents increased to 160 per cent during the last year.

He stated that 15 incidents of sexual abuse against women were reported in Islamabad in 2015 and were heightened to 39 in 2016.

According to the report presented in the Senate session chaired by Raza Rabbani, 119 cases of rape and murder were reported last year of which 26 murder and 39 rape cases were from Islamabad.
