World Music Day Today
World Music Day Today: “Fete de la Musique” (World Music day) is a day of free events to celebrate the universal language of music conceptualized in 1976 by American musician Joel Cohen. It was first celebrated in Paris in the year 1982.
Celebrating the day of Music was the idea of the then Culture Minister of France, Jack Lang, who wanted to encourage more people to take up music seriously and professionally.
People from some 700 cities across 120 countries, including Germany, Italy, Greece, Russia, Australia, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Canada, the United States, and Japan celebrate the day by making all-night music celebrations, perform on streets and hold free concerts.
Unlike other music festivals, the World Music Day allows any and every one to showcase their musical expertise and talent.
People prefer to listen all kind of music on this day including Celtic music from Irish band Lunasa and Chhebi music from Moroccan group Lemchaheb to the baul songs of Madan Bairagi from Bengal and the qawwali of the Sabri Brothers from Pakistan.
2018 Changwon K-PoP World Festival Pakistan
K-POP world festival unites K-POP fans from all around the world as ‘Hallyu’ has emerged as a global phenomenon spreading into different countries.
The K-POP World Festival is an annual event organized by South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the support of numerous government agencies.
K-POP fans will get a chance to perform with their favorite K-POP stars in the grand finale and also experience the Korean culture at the home of Hallyu, Korea!
The 2018 Changwon K-POP World Festival Pakistan Preliminaries will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday 21st July. This is your chance to represent Pakistan at the 2018 Changwon K-POP World Festival.

– Date & time: Saturday 21st July 2018 at 2:00 P.M.
– Venue : NUML Auditorium
Video Submission
– Registration period: 10th May (Thu.) ~ 8th July (Sun.) 2018
– Submit your video & application form to mjjo18@mofa.go.kr
– Contestants can choose from two different categories: Vocal or Dance performance
– Teams that select the recently released K-pop songs will be preferred.
So celebrate your love for music by joining people, apps, formats, competitions, contests, festivals, shows and organize informal get-togethers on this day. Many say that music has powers to heal emotional scars, others say it helps them to overcome adversities in life. Sharing his journey, musician Sachin Patwardhan said, “I play classical tunes on guitar, it attracts attention from seniors and youngsters.”
